Generic Arimidex Tablets – Product Information

Generic Arimidex (Anastrozole tablets) is used for the treatment of early breast cancer in hormone receptor positive post-menopausal women. It is also used for the Adjuvant treatment of early breast cancer in hormone receptor positive postmenopausal women who have received 2 to 3 years of adjuvant Tamoxifen. It is also used for reduction in the incidence of contralateral breast cancers in post menopausal women receiving as adjuvant treatment for early breast cancer and treatment of advanced breast cancer in post-menopausal women.
The active ingredient present in Generic Arimidex Tablets is Anastrozole.
Generic Anastrozole is marketed under trade names such as Arimidex, Armotraz, Redest and Anazole.
Anastrozole prevents the production of certain types of hormones in the body. It is used to treat breast cancer in women who have already gone through the menopause. Arimidex is only used to treat breast cancers which are sensitive to hormones. It is not suitable for children or for treating cancers which are not hormone sensitive.

Dosage And Administration

Generic Arimidex (Anastrozole tablets) comes as an oral tablet in 1 mg dosage forms . The recommended dosage of Generic Arimidex for adults is one tablet (1 mg) of Anastrozole tablets (Anazole) to be taken orally once a day. Anastrozole can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects of Generic Arimidex Tablets

The common possible side effects of Generic Arimidex (Anastrozole tablets) occuring in 1% or more of the patients are Hot flushes, Gastrointestinal upsets including nausea and diarrhoea, Headache, Rash, Loss of hair, Vaginal dryness, Asthenia, joint pain or stiffness, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Increases in alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase.
